Hezbollah demonstration in Beirut

Hundreds of demonstrators came down in the streets of Beirut today, to protest against the government of the current Prime Minister Fouad Siniora. A government which is considered as Westerner. Let ‘s remind that hezbollah is a pro-Syrian regime who totally supports the Lebanese president Emile Lahoud, besides the government of Siniora is against Syria ,consequently there a lot of tensions and a real political crisis in Lebanon.

Thousands of security troops have been deployed in the streets of Beirut in case the demonstration will be violent. Fouad Siniora considers this rally as a proof of the Lebanese freedom and democracy in Lebanon. He said: “our independent government will continue to defend freedom and democracy.

We will not allow any coup d'état against our democratic regime. We are determined to stay in the course, as our government is legitimate, constitutional and enjoys the confidence of parliament”.

But Hassen Nasrallah (Leader of the Hezbollah) promised a peaceful demonstration without any violence, the riot police was trying to prevent violent acts as much as possible. It seems like both parts are vague and not that sure from the kind of Lebanon they would like to have, they all claim democracy, peace and freedom but the contrary is happening today through booby trapped cars, street rallies, and the continual American and western interference.
