Mr El-Baradeï pointed out that the IAEA would give its last report in the highest authority of the UN before next two days. « The report will be sent today or tomorrow », declared Mohamed ElBaradei, managing director of the international Agency of nuclear energy (IAEA), during one press conference in Vienne yesterday.
IRAN - Nuclear technology in Iran, the General secretary transmits the report of the IAEA in the Security Council. The General secretary transmitted in the Security Council an international letter of the Directeur exécutif de l' Agence of nuclear energy (IAEA), Mohamed ElBaradei. For his/her part Russia always tries to find a compromise with Iran before the beginning of the meetings of the Security Council. Russia asks in Iran, « to consider seriously the result of the session of the advice of the governors (IAEA) and to assure a complete collaboration with the IAEA » In this letter represent the report on the nuclear activities of Iran which MR ELBARADEI had introduced on March 6th of this year in the Council of the governors de l' AIEA. Mr Annan noted down that Council had not adopted resolution in the course of its meeting. According to Mohamed ElBaradei « I do not know which decision or measurements will take the Security Council, but efforts of the IAEA and the other parties with Iran have to continue. Iran must continue working with the international community to give them claimed guarantees », The General secretary transmitted a letter of the manager of the international Agency of the nuclear energy (IAEA), accompanying his report on the Iranian nuclear file, in the Security Council which could soon adopt a presidential statement on question. « With this letter, Mohamed ElBaradei, manager of the international Agency of nuclear energy (IAEA), transmitted the report on Iran which he introduced in the Council of the governors of the agency, yesterday during a meeting which opened on March 6th and that has ended today », specified, the spokesman of the General secretary, Stephane Dujarric, during his daily point of press in the office of the UN in New York. The manager of the IAEA noted as as « the Council of the governors had not adopted resolution at the end of this meeting ». The General secretary held consultations on question with the five permanent members (P-5) of the Security Council - China, the United States, the Confederation of Russia, France and United Kingdom. Questioned yesterday, during a meeting with the press, about the submission of the Security Council of Iranian nuclear question, the General secretary wished that negotiations go on. « I do not know which decision or measurements will take the Security Council, but efforts of the IAEA and the other parties with Iran have to continue. Iran must continue working with the international community to give them claimed guarantees », he estimated. Questioned about her opposition to sanctions, Kofi Annan answered that they were « still far, very far » of it. Speaking in front of the press before the meeting of P-5 yesterday, the ambassador of France, Jean-Mark de la Sablière, recommended a « gradual approach » to encourage Iran to come back to the suspension of his activities of enrichment of uranium. The ambassador also announced that a presidential statement could be shortly adopted. He moreover pointed out staying in " narrow contact " with his colleagues of Germany which is not member of the Council of security but that is part of « the EU 3 ». The three European countries - Germany, France and United Kingdom - leads during months of negotiations with Iran to persuade the Iranians to give all necessary guarantees on the fact that the country does not follow military nuclear program, in exchange for a civil economic and nuclear assistance. These negotiations were stopped last January when Iran announced the resumption of its activities linked to the enrichment of uranium which serves for fabricating some fuel for the civil nuclear power stations but that perhaps used for the manufacture of the atomic weapon, big fear of the western countries and the United States. Yesterday, Russia called Iran on Thursday, to take into consideration the result of the last meeting of the international Agency of nuclear energy (IAEA) and to collaborate absolutely with the UN organization for nuclear safety. « We call Iran to consider seriously the result of the session of the advice of the governors (IAEA) and to assure a complete collaboration with the IAEA », pointed out the Russian ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release. « If Iran fulfils its obligations, they can find a resolution which should guarantee its legitimate rights to the civil use of nuclear power », points out the press release. « In this context, the proposal of Russia to install a joint venture which could support the legitimate interests of Iran in the development of its industry in nuclear power would constitute an instrument », according to the ministry.
