CHINA BIRD FLU DEATH - China, bird flu virus make a new death with a young girl, it's the tenth death of bird flu in China. Tenth decease of in bird flu in China. It is about a 9-year-old little girl who died of suites of the virus H5N1 of avian influenza in China. China announced on Wednesday its tenth death of bird flu, a 9-year-old little girl died in the province of Zhejiang in the east of China. This little girl is the 15th human case of H5N1 in China. she died on Monday in the province of Zhejiang where no probleme had been discerned. The little girl, named You, had presented the symptoms of pneumonia from February 10th. she had been hospitalized in a critical state. Tests accomplished on a local level and in the national Centre of control of diseases showed that the little girl had contracted the bird flu virus H5N1 of avian influenza. According to the previous official information, the little girl had contacts with ill hens in the course of two visits to parents who lived in a neighbouring county of the province of Anhui.
The 06 march, The Ministry of Health in China has reported an additional laboratory confirmed case of human infection with the H5N1 avian influenza virus. The case occurred in a 32-year-old man from the southern province of Guangdong. He developed symptoms of fever on 22 February followed by pneumonia. His condition deteriorated rapidly and he died on 2 March. He was unemployed. No outbreaks in poultry have been reported in Guangdong Province since 2004. The newly confirmed case is the first reported from Guangdong Province. The World Health Organisation (WHO), confirming the Chinese girl's death, said bird flu has infected 175 people, killing 96 of them since 2003. To date, China has reported 15 laboratory confirmed cases. Of these, ten have been fatal. One patient remain in critical condition. The United Nations stepped up efforts to battle the rapidly spreading bird flu virus. Recently, China and the WHO, have announced a more thorough cooperation to confront the H5N1 virus which is responsible for avian flu. "An agreement which we have recently reached allows the WHO to gain access to the data supplied by the Chinese authorities through a specially authorised web-page and request samples of the viral strains in confirmed cases" explained Alphaluck Bhatiasevi, a spokesperson for the WHO.
